Barbecue festival set to lapse Sept. 9. – The Point Pleasant Register

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio — Barbecue is entrance behind to a Gallipolis City Park.
Each group will be competing in one of dual categories: Rowdy’s Smokehouse Best Ribs and a Anything Goes Secret Ingredient competition. The leader of a best ribs will accept a prize and $150 cash, and a leader of a tip part will accept a prize and get to name subsequent years tip ingredient. This year it is cornmeal.
There will be dual trophies adult for grabs, a Kenny “Smooth” Siders II People’s Choice Trophy and a Michael Cockerham Grand Champion Trophy, that comes with $500.
All foe entries will be on site and cooking by 6 p.m. on Friday. They will be cooking pork, ribs, brisket, and a anything goes entry. Judging will start during 11 a.m. with pork, followed by brisket, ribs, and afterwards tip ingredient. Food will be on sale from noon to 3 p.m.. Each sheet will come with a BBQ sandwich, chips, drinks, and a sheet to opinion for a peoples choice award. A pig sampler will cost $5 and get we a representation from any of a 12 Teams. The brisket sandwich is $5. Chips and drinks are a $1.
Live song will also be accessible during a festival starting during 11 a.m. with Brent Patterson. Cradle and Grave will follow during noon, afterwards Pop Friction during 1 p.m., and a Band Maggie attack a theatre during 2 p.m. There will also be activities for a whole family during a day. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. a Gallipolis Car Club will have a journey in. There will also be a rebound residence and bungee shoot. Face portrayal by Jody Rife and balloon sculpting from Cowboy Mark Wood will be on palm from 12:30-2:30 p.m..
The Gallia County Barbecue Festival was started in 2014 to assistance lift supports for a Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau. One employee’s husband, David McCarty was a lerned BBQ decider and helped coordinate a competition.
