Black Bark BBQ Arrives On Fillmore Dec 3

In some glorious news for Fillmore district denizens and fans of barbecue, a fast-casual grill spinoff of 1300 on Fillmore, Black Bark BBQ, is only a few weeks from opening. This outlines a bit of a check — last we heard, a place was aiming for a Sep opening — though Eater now reports that a entrance is set for Dec 3. The space is right opposite a travel from 1300, during 1325 Fillmore, and cook David Lawrence has been building a menu over a final year and visiting famed BBQ meccas like Franklin’s in Austin and Bludso’s in Compton to do his research.

As we can see in a print above, he’s also got a code new smoker that should be adding some pleasing scents to a area — which, incidentally, was once a heart of good grill in SF before a redevelopment bulldozers arrived in a 1950s and 60s.

Black Bark’s menu will concentration on Texas-style ‘cue, including dry-rubbed ribs and brisket, and we’re betrothed “poutine-like unwashed fries and scotch mac and cheese.” And as Lawrence’s fans during 1300 know, he’s already a master of Southern cooking, and it was indeed a recognition of his ribs during a grill that desirous him to open Black Bark.
