Funeral services set for dear Abilene BBQ grill owner

Funeral services for dear Abilene grill grill owners Harold Christian will be 11 a.m. Saturday during King Solomon Baptist Church – during a dilemma of South Judge Ely Boulevard and Minda Street – in Abilene.

Burial will follow a wake use in a Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

Christian, 71, died Sunday. He and his family were a longtime owners of Harold’s Pit Bar-B-Q.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday during Northwest Church of Christ, 1141 North Willis St., underneath a instruction of Abilene Funeral Home.

Christian’s father non-stop Harold’s Pit Bar-B-Q in 1956. According to a KTXS “Made in a Big Country” news from 2003, it was a initial integrated grill in Abilene.

In 2008, Texas Monthly named it one Top 50 BBQ joints in Texas.
