Lineup set for BBQ, Boogie & Blues this weekend

BBQ, Boogie Blues, a renouned downtown eventuality that hosts a nationally authorised grill competition, Stringband Festival and an Amazing Race Competition will be hold this Friday from 5 – 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

According to Suzanne Roberts, executive of Mainstreet for Downtown Calhoun, there will be 36 veteran grill teams and 22 backyard grill teams competing in a competition, and 80 other vendors will be during a event.

Roberts does wish to remind a open that there will be travel closings for a event. “The travel shutting is a same as final year,” pronounced Roberts. “This will need a brief retard of King Street between Court Street and Oothcalooga Street be singular entrance only. This retard will sojourn sealed until Saturday, Apr 30 during 9 p.m. In further to this brief retard closure, a territory of Park Avenue from Harlan Street to Oothcalooga Street will be sealed or singular entrance usually from Friday afternoon during 2 p.m. until Saturday during 7 p.m. The territory of Court Street from King Street to Wall Street will be sealed from Friday, Apr 29 during 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Apr 30. The times settled are to give plenty time for setup and take down of all booths.”

This year’s eventuality is sponsored by Mohawk, Downtown Calhoun, Hamilton Medical Center, Vein Laser Center during Hamilton, Calhoun Drug Company,, Dub’s High On The Hog, George Chambers Resource Center, Good Samaritan Health Wellness Center, Mar of Dimes, Mauldin Trash Service, Gordon County Antique Engine Tractor Club, Northwest Georgia Regional Fair, Calhoun A-OK Campground, Gordon County Young Farmers, Greater Community Bank, Momon Construction, Payne Farm Produce, RAK Outfitters and Santek Waste Services.

6 p.m. – Vendors open on Court Street and Park Avenue and Kids Zone Opens in BBT City Park.

7 p.m. – 10 p.m. – Live Music on Court Street ~ Kurt Thomas (free admission).

7 p.m. ~ Georgia String Band Festival during Harris Arts Center featuring a Appalachian Ensemble from Davis Elkins College ($15 admission).

Saturday, Apr 30

7 a.m. – 10 p.m. – Sellers ChopHouse Open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – A full day of party and fun! Vendors and Kids Zone Open.

10 a.m. – Live Music on Court Street ~ Joseph Evans Russell Cook with a Georgia String Band Festival.

10 a.m. – Amazing Race starts.

11 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Live Music on Court Street ~ “Live Exchange Band” (free admission).

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – People’s Choice – Try a competitors’ BBQ! $10 (located outward a library).
