Neighborhood notebook: WARC Spring BBQ & Yard Sale seeking vendors

There’s still a few days left for vendors to register for a Windsor Area Recreation Commission’s annual Spring Chicken BBQ Yard Sale.

Applications are due May 2 for a event, that is set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 9 during Freysville Park. To register, go online during windsorrec.com or revisit a municipality building, 1480 Windsor Road, Windsor Township.

The 10-by-10-foot yard sale spaces are $10.

Folks wanting to haven duck dinners might squeeze tickets during a municipality office. The cost is $8 for a half-chicken, baked potato, apple salsa and roll. Pick adult time is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 9.

Both events will be hold sleet or shine, with a deduction benefitting recreational programs.

24th Annual Fairy Festival during Spoutwood Farm

You can find your middle Tinker Bell when Spoutwood Farm Center hosts a 24th Annual May Day Fairie Festival.

The three-day eventuality is noon to 6 p.m. May 1 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 2 and 3 during a farm, 4255 Pierceville Road, nearby Glen Rock.

Activities embody fairie and homunculus encampment tours, fairie value hunt, crowning of a festival aristocrat and queen, juried workman markets, live animals, storytellers, puppet shows, food vendors and more.

Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for ages 2 to 12. Those younger than 2 years are certified free.

Spring Bingo Night

Brogue Community Lions/Mason Dixon Lions will horde Spring Bingo Night May 1 during a Chanceford Township Community Building, 51 Muddy Creek Forks Road, Chanceford Township.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. for food sales and games start 7 p.m.

Prizes embody Longaberger baskets, Vera Bradley bags, and present certificates. Winners contingency be during slightest 18 years old.

Saubel’s Markets recognized

Kudos to Saubel’s Markets for receiving a 2015 Outstanding Ag Industry Award from a York County Agriculture Business Council.

The endowment was presented to Greg Saubel, third-generation owner, during a YCABC’s annual approval banquet. Saubel operates stores in Shrewsbury, Stewartstown and Whiteford.
