New Southern grill corner opens in West Boca Raton today
December 18, 2014 - bbq set
Sweet Dewey’s BBQ, a Southern-inspired eatery, is set to open currently (Thursday) in West Boca Raton.
The new mark is a domain of cook Dwayne “Dewey” Hooper, who has combined a menu that pays reverence to his family’s Mississippi roots. Hooper, a maestro chef, spent 15 years in a kitchen of St. Andrew’s Country Club and 9 years as cook during a Polo Club, both in Boca.
On a menu: grill veal and beef brisket, ribs (baby behind ribs, beef and Southern St. Louis style), rotisserie chicken, boiled catfish, grill sandwiches, cedar lumber salmon, veggie burgers, salads (quinoa, veggie-couscous), chili, mac-and-cheese casserole, collards, red beans and rice, cornbread and desserts. Wine and drink will be served as well.
One thing many of those entrees have in common: Dewey’s BBQ Sauce. Chef Hooper, who once bottled his Hooper’s BBQ Sauce, now skeleton to marketplace 6 flavors of his new sauce, that will be accessible during a restaurant.
The new spot, to be open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., will offer indoor and outside dining, carry-out grouping and smoothness service.
