Senior Center selects BBQ raffle winner, skeleton giving tree

BREWSTER – The long-anticipated raffle sketch for a three-piece Weber grill set was finally hold during a Brewster-Pateros-Bridgeport Senior Center on Halloween Day. The esteem was donated to a Center progressing this year and a Center began offered raffle tickets anticipating to strech a idea of $500 in sales. That idea was reached, a sketch was held, and a leader was Brewster college tyro Vanessa Terrones.
The Center’s Second Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest drew some-more than a dozen entries. Winners were: Angelina Walker, initial place, Paula Peckham, second, Pauline Glessner, third, and Lupe Angel, honest mention.
The Halloween Chili Feed was good attended, a trick-or-treaters were well-mannered, and a costumes were great, Center President Kathy Lowry said.
“A lot of us seniors do not get trick-or-treaters during home and this was a good event for us all to see a kids and palm out candy.”
“We are really doing a holiday giving tree this year, as good as a basket of food,” pronounced Lowry. “The tree and basket of food will be given to a needy family who will be selected during a after date.”
Lowry pronounced a giving tree will underline a names of a family together with what any would like to accept from Santa this Christmas.
“Hopefully a seniors will be means to perform their wishes with a integrate of gifts for each,” pronounced Lowry. “Members of a village are asked to extract and come and collect a name or present to a basket for some good food for a Christmas Dinner.”
The Center is gearing adult for a choosing of new 2018 officers. The choosing will be hold in Dec and new officers are wanted for any position.
