The “authentic Mississippi barbecue” restaurant, located on West Glades Road in Boca Raton, is set to open in early December. It’s owned and operated by cook Dwayne Hooper.
A Chicago native, Hooper — called “Dewey” by his friends — pronounced he will be re-creating family recipes from his Mississippi-raised mom and grandparents. The fast-casual judgment will have dine-in, carryout, and catering available. The menu will also concentration on lighter-style transport and has a children’s section.
Look for Hooper’s favorites: grill veal brisket, beef brisket, beef ribs, baby behind ribs, St. Louis-style ribs, Southern-fried catfish, and rotisserie duck for entrées and platters.
